Resort “Suites And Sweet Resort Angkor” opens in Cambodia
Hotel chain “Best Western International” signed an agreement to open its first hotel in Cambodia – “Suites And Sweet Resort Angkor”.
Under the agreement, the first hotel of a well-known network will appear in Siem Reap, the province, where a lot of historical monuments are located, included to the UNESCO World Heritage List – Angkor complex of temples that includes Angkor Wat and Thom Ankgor.

Resort “The Plantation” to be built in Cambodia
Construction of new resort “The Plantation” has begun in the capital of Cambodia.
Hotel in colonial style with 72 rooms will be located in a park of more than 5,000 square meters, in the heart of the tourist district of Phnom Penh, near the Royal Palace and National Museum.

A new international airport will be built in Cambodia
A new terminal will be located 60 kilometers from Siemripa.
Cambodia, Phnom Penh, January 12 – Cambodian government has approved a plan to build a new international airport Siemripa.
According to Yoon Hyung, one of the leaders of the Council for Development of Cambodia, the Prime Minister Hun Sen signed an order where the plan to build a new international airport near Siemripa was approved.

Russia and Cambodia will sign a cooperation program in tourism in 2010
The authorities of Russia and Cambodia are preparing a two-year program of cooperation in tourism, which is expected to be signed in 2010, the Federal Tourism Agency of Russia (Rostourism) said on Thursday.
This was discussed at the meeting of Russian Intergovernmental Russo-Cambodian Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, which was held at Rostourism on November 3.

Cambodia became popular among foreign tourists
Last year the country was visited by a great number of tourists, it’s more by 2% than in 2008.
In absolute terms, this index increased from 2.12 million to 2.18 million of visits.
According to the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, they managed to overcome the two-million border, despite of the economic recession.
