Cambodia became popular among foreign tourists

Last year the country was visited by a great number of tourists, it’s more by 2% than in 2008.

In absolute terms, this index increased from 2.12 million to 2.18 million of visits.

According to the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, they managed to overcome the two-million border, despite of the economic recession.

According to preliminary data for December, the number of arrivals increased in November by 33% to 260 thousand, – wrote The Phnom Penh Post.

Also reported that during January-November 2009 the number of arrivals by air fell by 11,6% in annual terms. This may indicate an increasing percent of regional tourism.
