The most popular temple in Cambodia will work until dark

The government of Cambodia will make the country’s a popular tourist attraction – a temple complex of Angkor Wat – available for evening visiting tourists too.

At present, tourists are asked to leave the compound before sunset. “We want tourists to see all corners of the temple, even those dark places, which also have some of the sculptures and statues,” – said the manager of Angkor Vatom Boone Narita. To this end, in some parts of the complex have already been installed lighting, and hours visiting the temple will be extended to 20.30 local time, said portal IOL Travel.

It is expected that this year, more than one million foreign tourists will visit Cambodia. Most of them come from South Korea, Japan and the United States. More than half of tourists visit Angkor Wat – the largest religious building on Earth.
